Charles Cooper, BBA, has been appointed to the Texas Banking Commission. State Finance Commission Chairman John Snider announced the selection of Cooper as commissioner.
1971
Milton S. McGee, BBA, has been named chairman of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas, the largest state community banking organization in the nation. He will lead the membership representing 2,000 banks and branches until October 2009. McGee currently serves as president and chief executive officer of Henderson Citizens Bancshares and HCB Inc.
1979
Lyle Weinert, MBA, and his wife received the CornerBank Community Cornerstone Award for November. In recognition of their service, CornerBank will contribute $100 to the Legacy Community Foundation to support additional community development projects.
Paul L. Foster, BBA, was one of four alumni that received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Baylor Alumni Association. Foster is founder and CEO of Western Refining Inc. in El Paso, which owns four refineries. The Paul L. Foster Success Center was dedicated at Baylor in 2007, following his gift of $3 million to the university.

Brad Prizer, BBA, has been named executive vice president of marketing for Bomgar, one of the 10 fastest-growing software companies in America as named by Inc. magazine. Bomgar was also ranked 190 on the Inc. 500 Fastest Growing Private Companies list.
Dana Terry Fickling, BBA, has been named the 2008 Church Business Administrator of the Year by the National Association of Church Business Administrators (NACBA). Fickling has been the business administrator for First Presbyterian Church of Fort Worth for nine years.
1982
John Lamb, BBA, has been appointed president and CEO of Clipper Windpower Development Co. Inc., a California-based company engaged in wind energy technology, wind turbine manufacturing and wind project development. Prior to joining the company, Lamb acted as special corporate legal counsel for a number of Clipper’s high-profile transactions.

John Harper, BBA, has been named marketing lead for Vendormate, Inc. Vendormate is a leader in vendor management solutions, providing cost-effective private-labeled solutions to manage the composition and risk of enterprises’ supplier bases. Harper formerly served as vice president of marketing for MCI.
Thomas Horton, BBA, was appointed to the board of directors for Qualcomm Incorporated, a leading developer and innovator of advanced wireless technologies and data solutions.
1984
Cheryl Corn, BBA, joined the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce in November as executive assistant to the president. In this position, she is responsible for all aspects involved in supporting the president’s office as well as the board of directors.

Jeffrey Kelley, BBA, has been appointed president and chief operating officer of Sterling Trust Company. United Western Bancorp, Inc. is a Denver-based holding company whose principal subsidiary is United Western Bank(R). Sterling Trust is its administrative trust subsidiary.
1990
David Johnson, BBA, has been appointed chief financial officer for Cleburne ISD. Johnson is a CPA and has over 18 years of experience in accounting.
1991
Bill Barton, MBA, along with Henry Arnold, co-authored a novel “Hometown Favorite,” which was released September 2008. Barton travels the world as a business partner with three companies that develop and sell products to nonprofit organizations, small businesses and large retailers.

Traci Calvin Niedziela, BBA, is the owner of the Hideaway Ranch & Retreat in Bluff Dale, Texas, which was named the “Best Family Friendly Inn” in the 2008-2009 Best of BedandBreakfast.com Awards. The awards were based on a qualitative and quantitative review of nearly 50,000 independent reviews submitted to bedandbreakfast.com, the leading online B&B directory and reservation network worldwide.
1994
David F. Johnson, BBA, JD, a shareholder in Winstead’s Fort Worth office, has been selected as one of 20 members of the 2008-2009 inaugural class of Leadership SBOT. This program of the State Bar of Texas and Texas Young Lawyers Association is designed to help attorneys achieve leadership roles within the community and State Bar of Texas.
Cherie R. Marcum, BBA, has been named vice president of finance for the Dallas Market Center. She previously served as financial controller for the Center.

Adam Miles, BBA, has been named city manager of Hewitt, Texas. Miles previously served as the assistant city manager of Cleburne.
Srikant Varma, MBA, joined M-Factor in the San Francisco area as head of sales consulting, reporting to the CEO. M-Factor is a dynamic profit and revenue optimization software services company. Varma was previously with Oracle Corporation.
1996
Scott Zieg, BBA, has been promoted to product manager at ColumbiaSoft and has assumed responsibility over the strategic direction of the company’s Document Locator software offering. Zieg formerly led the firm’s product development division.
2001
Jeffrey Chamberlain, MBA, has been appointed director of sales for Equity Thru Energy (ETE), a company that provides energy management programs utilizing state-of-the-art hardware and Web-based monitoring. Prior to his appointment at ETE, Chamberlain was director of U.S. sales at Heathrow, Fla.-based Dixon Ticonderoga Company, and currently is a Major proudly serving with the 40th Infantry Brigade Combat Team in the California Army National Guard.

Carroll, BBA, vice president-investments with UBS Financial Services Inc, has partnered with Diane McEachern, vice president-investments; and Thomas Carroll, vice president-investments; to start McEachern-Carroll Financial Services Group.
