Dean’s Message

There are several exciting ventures ahead for the Hankamer School of Business. On Dec. 8, Baylor and the Greater Waco, Hispanic and African American Chambers of Commerce will host an Economic Outlook luncheon discussing the trends, programs, projects and initiatives that will continue to push Waco forward. I will present on our national economy and moderate a panel with the three chamber CEOs.

Starting next year, the Hankamer School of Business will celebrate our centennial anniversary. We have a team of faculty and staff members planning events throughout the year, so be on the lookout for announcements and please attend the festivities if you can.

As I reflect on my first year as the William E. Crenshaw Endowed Dean, I am excited for the future of the Business School. With the announcement of R1 Research status, advancements in experiential learning opportunities and our involvement in the aforementioned community events, we are in a perfect position to further God’s kingdom through the realm of business.

With any change in leadership, you will see changes reflected throughout the organization as well. One area of focus has been to empower future leaders within the Business School. In 2022 alone, we have seen a rise in women stepping into leadership roles, not just in our faculty and staff, but among our alumni and students as well.

In this issue of the Baylor Business Review, we highlight the strengths of women workers, the accomplishments of our female alumni and current students, and the impact of research conducted here at the Hankamer School of Business. From stories of empowerment to advice from the top, we are so thankful for the women who have helped shape the Business School into the success it is today.
